As we understand that it is the intention of the Government to abolish the registration of brothels in this Colony, we request that you will kindly lay our views on the subject before the Governor in the hope that His Excellency may be pleased to lay them before the Secretary of State for the Colonies.

The system of registering brothels has existed in this Colony for many years. It was introduced at some time with the object of giving to unfortunate women who have entered on a life of ill-fame an opportunity of availing...
